Evri Integration Requirements

Connection Requirements:

  • A Corporate Client account with Evri

  • Requires the following information about your Evri account:

    • API username and password

    • API Key

    • Evri Client ID and Client Name

    • Evri Child ID and Child Name

    • ParcelShop API Key

    • Auth ID and Auth Secret

International Requirements:

  • EORI Numbers: You must provide your Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number to your Evri account manager if you ship internationally. If your Evri account does not have your EORI number, you will experience errors in ShipEngine when you try to create international labels. Do not add the EORI number to the Customs details of the shipment in ShipEngine.

  • Print three copies of the commercial invoice from ShipEngine and include them with your international shipment.

Label Requirements

  • Test Labels: Evri will provide you with a pre-determined list of addresses to use to create test labels. Send the test labels to our support team, and we will submit them to Evri for approval. We will notify you when the test labels are approved and you can start shipping!

  • Domestic Requirements: All domestic Evri shipments must have carrier insurance added with an insured value that is the same as the Order Total value.

Contact Evri to verify whether parcel insurance is part of your contract, as some Evri plans don't require insurance value information. If parcel insurance is in your contract, Evri requires the parcel value to properly validate insurance claims.

Service

Description

Shipping to Northern Ireland (Windsor Framework)

In alignment with the Windsor Framework, EVRi introduced additional data requirements when shipping from GB to Northern Ireland (NI). These changes will take effect on 31st March 2025.

On 19th September 2024, the UK Government confirmed that the new arrangements under the Windsor Framework for parcels and freight movements that were planned to come into effect from 30th September 2024 will be deferred until 31st March 2025. See Sending parcels to and from Northern Ireland for the full statement.

  • EVRi does not provide a B2B service. Therefore EVRi is not looking at the B2B journey, UKIMS requirements, or their impacts. If you do have a B2B journey, you need to engage with the party that provides that service on your behalf.

EVRi will not be referenced as a carrier for a client registering for UKIMS.

For shipments from GB to NI, EVRi will expect the following data to be provided for each item or product (naming depends on the GTM platform).

  • Data Requirements – B2C

    • Product Name (SKU description must be an accurate description of the goods in plain English. e.g. Blue Plastic Toy Car)

    • Product Value (Price)

    • Product Quantity

  • Data Requirements – C2C

    • Product Name (SKU description must be an accurate description of the goods in plain English. e.g. Blue Plastic Toy Car)

    • Product Quantity

  • Customer to Business (C2B)

    • Undeliverable returns back to Northern Ireland (parcel delivery from NI to GB being returned back to the client due to being undeliverable) will be accepted without providing the enhanced data set.

From 30th September (not before), EVRi will be validating the new data required from clients for Northern Ireland parcels, to ensure they can provide this data to HMRC. If the required data will not be provided, the label will not be generated.

If for any reason you cannot provide EVRi this data by 30th September, let EVRi know as soon as possible so that you can work together to ensure that EVRican still deliver parcels to Northern Ireland for you.

See the EVRri Windsor Framework Changes PDF attached to the end of this article for more information.

Postable

"Postable" means anything that can fit into a letterbox, such as large letters, books, or small toys.

Residential and workplace deliveries of Postable packages do not require a person to receive the package.

Items that can be sent as Postable may be:

  • Up to 23cm wide

  • Up to 35cm long

  • Between 1-3cm deep

  • Weigh between 250 g - 1 kg

Paperless Label Support

You can request a paperless label download link instead of a label PDF when creating a label. Add the display_scheme property to your call with the value paperless or label_and_paperless. You can then email the paperless label to be used when dropping off the package with the carrier.

Paperless / QR Code supported for the following services:

  • Hermes Domestic - Next Day

  • Hermes International

  • ParcelShop Next Day

  • Courier Service 48 Hour

  • Courier Service Saturday

  • Courier Service Sunday

  • EVRi Postable Next Day

  • Shop2Home QR / Label less

  • Ship2Shop QR / Label less

Evri Troubleshooting Tips

Here are some common issues, potential causes, and troubleshooting tips.

Issue

How to Troubleshoot or Resolve

Error: For domestic shipments, insurance amount must be set to the parcel's value.

What it means: Evri requires all domestic shipments to include a declared insurance value equal to the value of the order total. Without this value, Evri will send this error to ShipEngine instead of a label.

What to do:

  1. Add the insurance_provider field to your label request, and set the value to carrier.

  2. Add the insured_value field to your packages object, and set the amount value to match the Order Total value.

See Adding Insurance to a Shipment in our developer docs for more details.

Error: Evri requires you to set up your EORI number with your Evri accounts manager. Please remove all tax identifiers from this shipment

What it means: You will receive this error if you add your EORI number to Evri shipments in ShipEngine.

What to do: Instead, you must provide your EORI number to your Evri account representative. It will then print on the appropriate documents provided through ShipEngine.
