Feature

Description

Paperless Label Support

You can request a paperless label download link instead of a label PDF when creating a label. Add the display_scheme property to your call with the value paperless or label_and_paperless. You can then email the paperless label to be used when dropping off the package with the carrier.

Paperless supported for the following service:

  • Retour France

A4 Drop-off Labels

You can create an A4-sized (210 x 297 mm, close to 8.5" x 11") label where proof of drop off and drop-off instructions are provided as a tear-off element.

For ShipEngine to create a tear-off label, request either A4 or letter size in the request body "label_layout": "letter"  at the top level of the ShipEngine call's request body. Any of the label_download options for a label will then be provided in letter size and portrait orientation, as per ShipEngine standards.

Carrier insurance

Shipments in mainland France automatically include insurance for loss or damage up to €23 per kilo (€690 maximum with or without signature).

For shipments greater than or equal to 1kg, an invoice is required for compensation. Review the La Poste website for more details.

You may add carrier insurance to ShipEngine shipments for coverage beyond the included insurance.

Void labels

  • Labels voided via ShipEngine are not voided in your Colissimo account.

  • Unused labels automatically expire after a period of time.

End of Day forms (PDF)

An End of Day (EOD) form is a document that lists all shipments for the carrier each day. You can provide the EOD form to the carrier driver if requested or as a safeguard in the event you need to file a claim.

Shipping labels created for this carrier will include a tracking number that can be used to view the shipment status on the carrier's tracking website. Tracking may not be available for all shipping services.

Shipment manifests and End of Day documents are submitted electronically to the carrier by ShipEngine.

Shipment manifests and End of Day documents are generated as PDF files that can be printed along with shipping labels. Because these documents are not electronically submitted, physical copies must be provided to the carrier.

ShipEngine can include additional information on a shipping label that is specified in the label request, if supported by the carrier.

You can connect this carrier to ShipEngine multiple times using different accounts and choose which account will be used to create each shipment.

Colissimo Integration Notes

  • Colissimo PUDO (Pickup/Dropoff) Services are Currently Unavailable in ShipStation: Colissimo supports PUDO, but this feature is not yet available in ShipStation. If you don't want these services to appear in your Services drop-down menu, go to Settings > Shipping > Carriers and click the link under the Services heading to remove them. This impacts the following services:

    • DOMESTIC:

      • Point Retrait – Pickup ou en consigne Pickup Station

      • Point Retrait – en Bureau de Poste

    • INTERNATIONAL:

      • Point Retrait – en Bureau de Poste

      • Point Retrait – en relais

      • Point Retrait – Consigne Pickup Station – Sauf France et Belgique

If you attempt to create a label in ShipStation with one of these services, this error occurs: Le code ou l'adresse point de retrait n'a pas été transmis. That translates to The collection point code or address has not been transmitted in English.

  • Colissimo does not provide rates to ShipEngine.

  • If your Ship From Location includes a Company Name, your label will print with the Company Name and not the sender name. If no Company Name is included, the label will print with the sender's name.

  • If using the 8.5"x11" label format, the borders of the label may not print as expected. However, you can still use the label as all required data will still be included.

  • ShipEngine's integration with Colissimo does not support third-party billing.
