Manage Your Payment Methods

In ShipEngine, you have two types of payment methods, both of which you can fund via credit card or Pay by Bank with Automated Clearing House (ACH):

  • Your ShipEngine Balance payment method, which funds the balance that pays for your ShipEngine Carrier labels, package insurance fees, and any post-shipment adjustments that may occur for those labels.

  • Your subscription payment method, which pays for your monthly subscription fee and any API overage fees you may incur each month.

    If you are on the Free plan, you will not have a payment method to manage for your subscription.

System Maintenance and Enhancements for ACH/Pay-by-Bank Service

We are performing system maintenance and enhancements to the ACH/Pay-by-Bank Service. While this work is underway, existing merchants must contact support to have this service enabled for their account. Existing ACH customers can continue using the service without disruption.

ACH will not be available for new setups. We will update as soon as the service is available again.

To edit or change your payment methods:

Update ShipEngine Subscription and Balance Payment Method

  1. Click Manage payment methods under Payment Settings.

  2. Enter the details for the payment method you wish to use and select Subscription or Account Funds for how the payment method is to be used.

  3. Click Add Payment Method when done.
