Add Your Tax ID & Address (Australia & Canada)

If your business operates in Australia or Canada, add your tax ID and business address so ShipStation API can accurately calculate taxes and generate invoices for your account.

If you don't provide a business address, your payment method's billing address is used to calculate taxes and generate invoices.

Country-Specific Tax Charges

  • Australia: GST is charged on all transactions for Australian customers, including businesses and individuals, regardless of whether you provide an ABN.

  • Canada: GST/HST is charged on all transactions for Canadian customers, including businesses and individuals, regardless of whether you provide a GST/HST number.

Add your Tax ID & Address

You can add your tax ID and address only once. After you save your information, you can't update or edit it.

To add your tax ID & address:

  1. Go to Settings > Tax ID & Address.

  2. Click Add details.

  3. Enter the requested information, then click Save.
