Add and Edit Users

A ShipEngine user is created by default when you sign up for a ShipEngine account. Additional users can be created for the account. Creating multiple users allows additional personnel the ability to log in and see information that can only be accessed in the dashboard.

Create Users

Follow the steps below to create additional ShipEngine users:

  1. Click the Add User button.

    The add a user account button is highlighted on the account settings screen.
  2. Enter the following, required information:

    • Username

    • Full Name

    • Email

  3. Click the Save Changes button.

    The Add User modal is displayed and the Add User button is highlighted.

Disable Users

To disable a previously created user:

  1. Click the Edit link for the user you would like to disable.

    The edit link is highlighted for a user on the account settings screen.
  2. Toggle the Activate user (can log in) option off.

    The Edit User modal is displayed and the Is Active User checkmark is highlighted.
  3. Click the Save Changes button.

The disabled user will no longer be able to log in to ShipEngine.

Toggle the Show Inactive option on at the top of the Users page to view disabled users.

The users screen is displayed and the Show Inactive Users checkbox is highlighted.

Change User Passwords

To change or update a user’s password:

  1. Click the Edit link for the user whose password needs to be changed.

    The edit link is highlighted for a user on the account settings screen.
  2. Enter the new password in both the Password and Confirm Password fields.

    The edit user modal is displayed and the password and confirm password fields are highlighted.
  3. Click the Save Changes button.
